I was lucky enough to have attended the premiere of this AMAZING movie last Thursday with Girl Up and OH. MY. GOD. This is actually the best movie I have ever seen in my entire life (and I really don't like movies. Don't hurt me.) "He Named Me Malala," directed by Davis Guggenheim, chronicles the incredible (and sometimes totally normal) life of Malala Yousafzai, teen activist and hero. Scenes of her speaking at the United Nations on her 16th birthday are followed by scenes of her and her brothers playing cards at home. Scenes of her speaking out on the radio in Pakistan about girls' education are followed by scenes of her showing her physics exam, on which she received a grade in the 60s, laughing embarrassedly.
"He Named Me Malala" opens in theatres on October 9th, 2015. See this movie. If you are capable of nothing else in the world, see this freaking movie. I'm seeing it for a second time. And a third time. And a fourth. I rate it 237,534,875,902,740,374,283,907,430/10, in case you were wondering.
Go see Malala be awesome. And follow her advice about thinking big. It's super important.
